Frequently Asked Questions

Here at Aequus Archers, we believe that archery should be an accessible sport for all to enjoy. Unsure where to start? Take a look at our frequently asked questions below, or get in touch for more information!

How do I start?

The best way to try archery is to come along to a Have-A-Go session. For more information on what's included and how to book a Have-A-Go, click here.

Are children allowed to shoot?

Of course! We welcome any child to come along and have a go, the only thing we ask is that the child is accompanied by an adult and is able to follow the Archery GB safety instructions (with our help of course!)

Once I've tried archery, what are my next steps?

If you'd like to start archery, you'll need to complete a 6-week beginner's course to learn the basics. This covers good shooting form, safety procedures and shooting protocol, an introduction to the sport, and much more. Click here to find out more about our beginner's courses.

Can I borrow club equipment?

Aequus provides club equipment for any have-a-go sessions and beginners courses. Following the completion of a beginners course, we can loan new members club bows to get them started on their archery journey whilst they decide on which equipment is best for them.

How much is club membership?

More information on our current membership fees can be found here.
